East King County Celebrates Welcoming Week

SEPTEMBER 10-19, 2026

This year will mark the 11th year that East King County cities have participated in the International Annual Welcoming Week celebration started in 2012 by Welcoming America. The annual campaign connects neighbors of all backgrounds through activities and events that foster a mutual understanding between immigrants and non-immigrants, and build a deeper sense of belonging for all.  See more information about how to get involved at Welcoming America [toolkit]

Save the Date for Welcoming in Action: May 15, 11am – 1:30pm, location TBA. Across the nation, immigrant and refugee communities face escalating attacks from federal policies that undermine safety, stability, and opportunity. At this moment, local leadership is more critical than ever. The East King County lunch event will convene civic leaders, advocates, and partners to explore how municipalities can build and institutionalize the infrastructure of welcoming and belonging.
