Our Approach

Eastside for All advances strategic partnerships, expert leadership and the social infrastructure required to build and sustain welcoming, just and equitable communities in East King County.

Eastside For All is an external advocacy organization in East King County focused entirely on local systemic race and social justice issues.

Other racial equity advocates in East King County exist, but most of them are internal. While internal advocates are powerful allies who have important information about how their system works, without an external advocate, communities will still struggle to see meaningful change.

Eastside For All has the power to implement real, lasting change in our local communities by acting in the following ways:

  • We alter patterns of decision-making and power that have historically excluded our communities of color.
  • We focus on hyperlocal impact because our spheres of concern, influence and commitment are right here – in the places where we live, work, learn and play.
  • We practice radical connection, nurturing relationships within and between our communities.

Our Founder

Debbie Lacy co-founded the Eastside Refugee and Immigrant Coalition (ERIC) in 2002 while she was the Director of Outreach at Youth Eastside Services in Bellevue, WA. Debbie led the grassroots coalition through its formation and initiated a community needs assessment for Eastside immigrants which resulted in the Eastside Cultural Navigator Program. She brought Welcoming Week to East King County in 2016 and became more involved in leadership for local systemic change following the 2016 presidential election. Debbie began forming Eastside For All in early 2019 to create much needed social justice and community building infrastructure for the region.
