NOTE: The Local Resources listed below are organizations who collaborate closely on issues impacting immigrants in East King County. They co-host events and advocate together regularly. CISC is a nonprofit organization working to support immigrants and their families by creating opportunities for them to succeed, while honoring their heritage. Bilingual staff provides linguistically and culturally appropriate information, referral, advocacy, social, and support services to immigrants who speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Spanish, and many more languages. Services include early childhood education, youth development, family support, senior and disabled adult services, health care access, and anti-hate/anti-bias programs. ELAP’s programs are free and include civil legal aid services, regular legal clinics, and community education. For immigrant needs, ELAP provide free legal help at regular legal clinics on issues like petitions, applications for adjustment of status or citizenship, and general immigration legal questions. They do not represent clients in deportation cases or removal hearings. You're eligible for services if you live in King County and have an income that is less than 200% of the federal poverty level for your household size. (A household of three that makes less than $3,600/month qualifies.)
