Learn about our legacy of welcoming and community building in East King County
What We Do
Our Valuable Partnerships with Communities and Government Create Lasting Change
We Energize Our Eastside Communities to Transform Local Policies, Practices, Relationships, and Investments
Find My CommunityPeople of color comprise over 40% of the population across our combined Eastside communities of Bellevue, Issaquah, Redmond, Kirkland and Sammamish. And over 1 out of every 3 residents was born outside the U.S.
But our city councils, school boards, commissions, large nonprofit boards and business associations do not reflect this racial and cultural diversity.
East King County’s historically passive, status quo approach to combating racism and xenophobia has now caught up with us. We are far behind other major regions across the U.S. when it comes to advocacy investment and transforming infrastructure.
We're here to change that.Eastside For All will build infrastructure that will grow with the community, leaving a legacy for newcomers and future generations who call East King County their home.
We will do this together – one conversation at a time, one action at a time.
Here's How
Transform Local Policies
With the guidance of key community stakeholders, we identify opportunities to establish new policies and improve existing policies that advance racial equity in East King County.
Eastside For All’s policy advocacy focuses on Eastside city governments, including police, and school districts. We challenge the development of policies that perpetuate the disparities, marginalization, and other harmful outcomes for our communities.
Change Practices
We call for transforming the usual ways of doing business, where a privileged minority holds decision-making power to frame problems, identify solutions and distribute resources.
We provide resources on how to design, implement and evaluate initiatives with an equity lens. This greatly aids our local governments, police departments, and schools in their efforts to be more welcoming and inclusive.

Forge Equitable Investments
We call upon our fellow community members, city governments and school districts to ensure that equity efforts are appropriately funded. Budgets should reflect the entire Eastside’s shared commitments and values.
We advocate for increased accessibility to funding and capital for small businesses and nonprofits led by people of color and immigrants.
