Kirkland City Council Meeting
The Kirkland City Council meets at 7:30 pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 123 5th Ave. Study sessions are held before regular meetings starting at 5:30 pm; no official action may be taken at study sessions.
You can watch or participate in regular meetings and study sessions via Zoom, either by calling 253-215-8782 or 206-337-9723 (both toll-free in the US) or online here (webinar ID 833 0932 5268; no passcode needed). Meetings can be watched live on Kirkland TV, YouTube, Facebook or the city website. The meetings are recorded and available to the public, generally within 24 hours and can be found here the next day.
Tentative agenda items include:
- Affordable Housing in Low-Density Zones Amendment Hearing (memo)
- Kirkland City Council wants to make it harder to build affordable housing in low-density zones, and is trying to pass an ordinance that allows bigger buildings to be built without paying affordable housing fees
- The fees go towards the ARCH (A Regional Coalition for Housing) Trust Fund
Please tell City Council to keep the existing regulations and promote affordable housing development in Kirkland!
