Safe Haven Cafecitos Meeting April 15th – Zoom
Special Cafecitos April 15th Meeting:
Join Us at our Special – Cafecitos on April 15th at 9 am
For our April Cafecitos, we’ll be hosting a listening session to gather community input and help inform policies related to how the King County Sheriff’s Office handles immigration matters. The information we collect will also help guide recommendations for our cities police departments.
Do you have thoughts about how the Sheriff’s Office should respond to increased federal immigration activity? We invite you to join us on April 15 during our regular Cafecitos meeting time to share your perspective. Your input will help shape recommendations for the Office of Law Enforcement Oversight (OLEO).
OLEO is not part of the Sheriff’s Office, and any identifying information will not be shared with law enforcement. They are seeking to better understand community experiences to inform policies, practices, and training.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to OLEO at OLEOpolicy@kingcounty.gov.
We hope you can join us!
When: April 15th
Time: 9 am
Where: Zoom link here
In everything we do, we aim to center the voices and experiences of those most impacted, as well as those working closely with impacted communities.
If you’d like to share your input but can’t attend Cafecitos, we still want to hear from you! Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and share your thoughts with the Office of Law Enforcement Oversight (OLEO): Handling Immigration Matters Survey – PublicInput.
Whether you’re looking to take action, share, or just listen, we’d love to have you with us. Feel free to invite your friends, family, or anyone who’d like to be part of the conversation.
Let’s do it together.

Cafecitos is a gathering created by the Safe Haven group, an informal network formed in 2019 that has been involved in advocacy efforts with local school districts and cities to address language justice, cultural supports, and equitable access to opportunities for youth and families. We partner with housing advocates to work on systemic solutions including more affordable housing, tenant rights & protections, and addressing discrimination and bias. (See our Community Safety initiative for more resources to support community members experiencing hate and bias.)
